Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Affordable Appliances Fort Smith sells used home appliances to homeowners, renters, and landlords.

Q: What appliances do you sell?

We sell used major household appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers, dishwashers, wall ovens, hot water heaters, and air conditioners. They range from new returns, scratch-and-dent to well-loved.Our inventory changes frequently.

We encourage you to contact us if you are looking for something special. We help renters, homeowners, and landlords meet their appliance needs without breaking the budget.

Q: Do you guarantee these appliances work?

Before we sell an appliance, it gets thoroughly tested to be sure it works. If it does not, it gets repaired before going on the sales floor.

Because we do our own repair work, we are confident in offering our 90-day warranty on every appliance we sell. If anything goes wrong in that time, contact us and we will make it right.

Q: My appliance stopped working; can you fix it?

We do repairs in our shop or your home. We will be happy to schedule a service call if you want us to come out to you. If you prefer a lower labor cost, bring it to us. Our tech will ask a few questions and look at the machine to diagnose the problem.

Repairs only begin after your approval. If the machine would be more expensive to repair than replace, we will tell you. The Diagnostic Fee can be deducted from the cost of your next appliance when you purchase from us.

Q: How much will it cost?

Appliance repair costs break down into labor and parts.

  • Labor. This is a fixed rate shop. Our labor charge is the same whether the job takes an hour or a few days. There is a price break to repair items in our shop, but we understand the convenience of having it done at home. Your choice.
  • Parts. When possible, we will offer you the choice of a used part, if one is available. Some parts may only be available new, so we try to get you the lowest price.
  • If it's bad news. If your machine is Not Worth Repair (NWR) we will tell you, and there is a small fee for the diagnostic service. That cost can be used as a discount if you buy your next appliance from our shop.

Q: Do you deliver?

We offer local delivery for a small fee. If more than one appliance is being delivered to the same location, we will make adjustments.

When we arrive with your appliance, we will remove the old appliance, if needed. The new appliance is then put in it's place. We do our best to keep our feet clean, too.

NOTE: When refrigerators, dishwashers, and gas appliances are installed, a licensed plumber or the homeowner must connect the appliance to the gas or water utility.

What do you do with old appliances?

We like to avoid seeing appliances go to the landfill.

  1. If it can be repaired, we will fix it and sell it at an affordable price.
  2. If it cannot be fixed, we save usable parts to help others.
  3. From that point, a dead appliance gets recycled.

Do you have an old appliance that needs to go?

If you have an appliance you don't need or want, feel free to bring it by our shop. Think of it as a small way we can all help save the planet.
